TSA Approved Luggage Locks… Why they are important.
TSA stands for Transportation Security Administration, they are the US g vernment agency that represents thousands of security officers, inspectors, directors, air marshals and managers who protect the US’s transportation system, their counterpart in the UK is the HMRC Her Majesty’s customs and revenue. The TSA screens every passengers luggage before it is placed on an airplane, often they will physically open passengers luggage, if the passenger does not have an approved TSA lock their lock will be clipped and removed so they can access the luggage. If the lock is TSA APPROVED the security officer will have a master key that allows them to open the TSA APPORVED lock and inspect the luggage. Once they have completed the search they will then relock the bag, this will keep the luggage secure and safe and the lock can be used again. The screening of passenger luggage was a topic of focus, should Australia adapt its security technology its more than likely that to mirror that of the USA & the UK, allowing passengers the same level of security and safety.
